The Old Chapel, Rickmansworth Cemetery.
A period cemetery chapel at Rickmansworth, converted into a private dwelling. We carried out the foundation, roof, and inner and outer skin, replicating every original feature along the way. The flintwork, tracery windows, and extensive Bathstone detailing were all hand-carved and installed by our team, bringing this historic building a complete transformation while staying true to its original character.
A Heart in the Stone
Every carving began with a precise template, tracing the chapel's original tracery design to ensure a faithful, exact match.
Matching the Original Pattern.
Each piece of Bathstone was hand-carved to replicate the chapel's original roof and buttress detailing, using traditional tools and techniques.
Hand-Carving the Detail.
A finished tracery window piece, fully hand-carved and ready for installation, true to the chapel's Gothic detailing.
A Complete Transformation.
The chapel restored: flintwork repaired, tracery windows reinstated, and the building returned to its original character as a period dwelling.
